Registration is now open for the 2012 “Be a Better Freelancer,” the 2012 Communication Central conference for current and aspiring freelance writers and editors: October 12-13, 2012, in Baltimore, MD. This is a great opportunity to learn from and network with colleagues, and overcome the isolation of the freelance life.
Among the speakers will be not only our own Janice Campbell of NAIWE but also: Carol Fisher Saller (University of Chicago Press), Jack Lyon (the Editorium), Erin Brenner (Copyediting newsletter), Elaine Smith (EWS Associates), Bevi Chagnon (PubCom), David Hazard (Ascent), April Michelle Davis (Editorial Inspirations), John McIntyre (Baltimore Sun and ACES), Carolyn Haley and Amy Schneider, Barbara Hart (Publications Professionals), Maggie Secara and more!
In addition, Laura Poole will offer an intensive Copyediting Bootcamp (fundamentals and advanced topics) in conjunction with this year’s conference, on Sunday, October 14, at the same location. This will be an intensive skills workshop, great for beginner or intermediate-level copyeditors. Attendees of the Communication Central conference will receive a significant discount.
